Campus and Resources
Red Cedar is located in an agricultural valley just north of the village of Bristol, along the
Hogback mountain ridge. The school is based in a large house that includes classrooms
and common areas, and has open views to the surrounding landscape. Resources include
a library, kitchen, science lab, art studio equipment including a pottery kiln and wheel,
and networked, online computers. The two-acre campus includes a playing field for
sports and games, play structures, a garden, and an outdoor classroom which includes a
yurt and cob oven. The campus is bordered by both open farmland and forest, and is
within easy access of natural wilderness as well as area cultural resources.
The school draws students from throughout Addison County, as well as from Chittenden,
Rutland and Washington counties. The school offers a bus service to Chittenden County
and northern Addison County.
